Get a local phone number
A local number of the country and city you choose. Calls to it ring in the MirageTEL app on your phone. The first month is paid when you buy it; after that it renews monthly from your wallet.
Four steps
- 1Numbers → search a country or a city
Typing “chi” already finds Chicago, Illinois — you don’t have to open the country first. Open Numbers.
- 2Pick the city and its area code
Big cities have several codes — Chicago has 773 and 872.
- 3Choose “Any number” or the exact digits
Where the operator allows it, you see real free numbers. “Any number” is the quickest.
- 4Review and pay
From your wallet, or by card. Nothing is charged until you press Pay.
Some countries — Germany, France, Italy and others — register every number’s holder by law. They ask after you pay, with a short form; the number starts working once the operator accepts it. The ⓘ on the country’s page lists what it asks. The US, Canada, the UK and many others ask for nothing. What they ask.

- Sign in to the MirageTEL app — that is where calls ring.
- Keep enough in your wallet for the next month — it renews from there.
Don’t
- Don’t use a number for spam, robocalls or scams — calls, texts and new numbers are paused on the account.
- Don’t give false details to a country that asks — the operator refuses the number.
