eSIM installed but not connecting: a safe checklist

Work through line selection, roaming, APN and network registration without deleting the eSIM.

Do not delete the profile

An activation code can normally be installed only once. Deleting an installed eSIM may remove the profile without making the QR reusable. Keep it installed while checking the settings.

Check in order

  • Confirm the travel eSIM line is turned on.
  • Select it as the mobile-data line.
  • Enable data roaming when the plan instructions require it.
  • Toggle airplane mode, then wait for network registration.
  • Review the APN shown in the plan or support instructions.
  • Try automatic network selection before choosing a listed network manually.

Bring evidence to support

Record the phone model, country, visible network name and any error. A screenshot of the SIM settings helps. Do not send the activation code or private QR in an ordinary support message.
